Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC)
The Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC) is the specialized program accreditation board for educational training programs granting master’s degrees or higher in genetic counseling. ACGC is the successor organization to ABGC. 

American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG)
The credentialing body for clinical geneticists, laboratory geneticists and medical geneticists. ABMGG (previously known as ABMG) certified genetic counselors before the formation of ABGC.

American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG)
Provides education, resources and a voice for the medical genetics profession.

American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG)
The professional organization for geneticists includes researchers, academicians, clinicians, laboratory practice professionals, genetic counselors, nurses and others involved in or with special interest in human genetics.

An international coalition of individuals, professionals and genetic support organizations that promote healthy lives for those impacted by genetics.

National Coalition for Health Professional Education in Genetics (NCHPEG)
A national effort to promote health professional education and promote access to information about advances in human genetics.

National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA)

ABGC received NCCA accreditation of its Certified Genetic Counselor© certification program. NCCA is the accrediting body of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence.

National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI)
Supports genetic and genomic research, investigation into the ethical, legal and social implications surrounding genetics research, and educational outreach activities.

National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC)
Provides education, resources and a voice for the genetic counseling profession.

Office of Genomics & Disease Prevention at the CDC
Provides information about human genetic discoveries and how they can be used to improve health and prevent disease.

Transnational Alliance for Genetic Counseling
Makes available proceedings and other materials generated from international genetic counseling program directors, professional organizations, and credentialing bodies that represent genetic counselors.
